Firewall to add on Vista to KAV and Edge

I'd like to replace Vista firewall with a more effective one.

On the PC, Vista Business 32, are already running KAV 2009 and PrevX Edge.

My first choice would be OA free but i fear some incompatibility.

Do you have any suggestions?

I'm not sure if KAV includes Application Filtering and Pro-Active Defense found in KIS, if so I would imagine you will get conflicts with any firewalls with HIPS as you would have 2 programmes monitoring the same thing. If not you will have a bigger choice. OA is certainly very good.

But why not upgrade to KIS? As long as you don't need the anti-spam (PITA IMO) or Parental Control (also PITA IMO) it's a top suite. The firewall's OK. It is basically automatic for trusted programmes but you can change that to interactive and create rules etc if required.

I'm running KIS and Edge (also sandboxie) on one of my vista 32 machines. Light, fast and safe for me. No conflicts to date.

I'm running KAV, Prevx Edge and Look'n'Stop without any conflicts or slowdowns, but on XPSP3.

Ditto here re. the configuration...except for the Sandboxie which I do not have (or want).

@ Chris, disagree re. the Anti-spam...shaping up very nicely here and does a good job. Don't know about the Parental Controls.

@ aieie, I would endorse the view...especially if you like and use KAV...and I reckon you could get an upgrade to KIS on favourable terms if you email Kaspersky direct.

I am running KAV and Outpost firewall. I added Prevx Edge yesterday and so far no problems.
