  2. Hi
I currently no longer know what to think about FFox...

It used to be one of my very favorite, but now I ain't sure anymore.

I still can't get it to run well along the latest SUN JRE 1.5-02, which is quite unsatisfactory... It all started with FFox 1.01 and continues with 1.02. Talk about a disadvantage! The same problem does not exist on current Mozilla.

It also seems to me FFox is slower to perform on my system... Dunno why.

So I'm wondering if current FfOx versions are still to be held in such a high esteem, compared to, say, Opera 8b3...

What do users think about that?

    Cheers

Java does not do well on my Firefox either. Seems that problem has been around through all the versions.

Firefox is slower on my system than Mozilla or K-Meleon.

I like the Mozilla based browsers because of the extensions and usability.

Opera is a great alternative browser and plenty speedy.

Here I thought it was my computer, though every thing seems to be fine. So, it might be Ffx? I also, get alot more pop-ups even with blockers than I used to, with say .9 of Ffx.

Maybe time to change again, spring cleaning in a way! :D

Thanks for all your timely stories, Ronjor!!:D

Oh yeah, I wanted to say, alot of the time my computer just freezes with Java on it, like it takes forever for a java applet to download, and if I click on a picture or something it kicks me right off line!?

That's not supposed to happen, is it?

Then again, maybe it's a good thing?! LOL! One way to get someone off-line!

I use to be big into FF once it hit the shelves, but two months ago I have moved to using Opera8b3 and really starting to like it. This version has come a long way from it's later versions. As far as FF developments to impose some of Opera features, will be a long time. Mozilla community really needs to standardize on things instead of letting every plugin and mod slip through the cracks. Half of what is available now for FF is questionable. FF is basically a light weight browser to function as one object... surfing the web.

Opera8b3 is fully customizable and completely to your advantage. Besides that, editing your hosts file to prevent this type of malware.
