For some reason Mu block origin, quit working today, adds on shows only "disable or remove" it's icon is missing from toolbar.

Removed it & re-installed, same as above. Addon now say Legacy presume FF57 related. Ran KIS, HMP alert, & ADW scans clean

KIS web anti-virus, complained every time I opened my home page
    2017-08-28_15-46-23.png

KIS failed along with the other scans to stop this, ran CCleaner & it's reg cleaner, stopped the warnings. Why is it, it can find but can't stop the problem?

Hi Rico. Your Firefox addons are labeled Legacy but they should still be working in Firefox 55. I only use 4 extensions, including UBO, they all have the label Legacy next to them but they all are working as good as ever.

If a re-install of 1.13.10 doesn't work, try to install uBO 1.13.8 (and disable automatic updating of this addon)

I was having issues with anti-adblock pop-up on a site which is excluded in uB0.

I thought it might be 1.3.10, but reverting to 1.3.8 the problem persisted.

Disabling and re-enabling Decentraleyes appears to have fixed it (?). Will keep an eye on it.

Edit: Scap that. The issue persists. Looks like it's Adguard, though site is whitelisted.

This one: https://www.dailymaverick.co.za/ but the adblocker-popup is sporadic, on some articles, so can't replicate it at the moment.

sorry, you wrote adguard, thats different. ist that adguard as installation or extension?
and yes he is right, adguard is very limited in its options. i tried at last year - and kicked it off 4evar.
in fact my basic security is using also hosts file from windows and ublock extends it in any browser with ad filtering.
trust me it dont need two adblockers in a browser - and it dont need adguard as a system wide service (which has to be paid).

get hosts file and hostsman, thats all.

Please add this rule to your adblocker's user filter(It will have to be added to each of the adblocker that you use)
    Code:
    dailymaverick.co.za###abr_purchase_div
Reply back on how is it.

Oops, a senior moment! I meant Adguard (post corrected now), installed.

Some time ago I used to use Hostsman (with MVPS hosts). But uB0 provides this also, and others?

dont know if adblock (plus) is capable. i did not try often other blockers because those i tested were very limited or not strong enough.
hosts here has exceptions and other additions whily uBo hosts has to be set by purpose or temporary. (its untouched here)
so hosts give me basic web-protection and uBo extends this. lately i had an experiment with hosts and uBo off - holy **** so many ad sites on one website.

i dont work often on hosts because uBo is all-time present. if i would use internet explorer or edge i think i would have run in trouble many times.

i respect people making software and wanting a fee, but from my view a (maybe regular) donation to gorhill/uBo is much better - cudos to gorhill.

i have spend more money into free software than in commercial software - ok, this pc is private and i have changed my mind about commercial security software with eg annual fees. i would prefer lifetime.

adguard as extension might ok, but i never would spend money on the windows installation - complete waste of annual fee.

I suppose this should be in a dedicated uBlock0 thread (can't find one?) as there is now more than one thread around latest uBlock0 updates for Firefox after 1.13.8 ...

Anyone experiencing these issues with uBlock0 1.14.0? See https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/sandboxie-acquired-by-invincea.357312/page-161#post-2703229

Haven't lost settings but I seem to get a domain name lookup error when I access the dashboard. Maybe this has always been the case, just haven't noticed. Proceed as follows?

    About this Add-on
If your settings were lost with the upgrade to 1.14.0, you can restore them manually, as follow:

    - Install uBO version 1.13.8: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/downloads/file/685614/ublock_origin-1.13.8-an+fx+sm+tb.xpi.

    - Backup all your settings: go to the "Settings" pane in the dashboard, then click on the "Backup to file" button at the bottom.

    - Re-install the most recent version of uBO from AMO.

    - Restore your settings: go to the "Settings" pane in the dashboard, then click on the "Restore from file..." button at the bottom.

If you still have issues with the webext version of uBO (some *might* experience issues with uBO being limited in the amount of data it can put in its assigned storage), you might have to roll back to 1.13.8 until the issue is fixed in Firefox.

none because my firefox runs complete in the box, no outbreak, no data recovering.

but to say it in clear words - people using sandboxie without any further thought should uninstall it. either they are not able to configure it well or its potential dangerous. its ok to ask about but its not ok to expect that invicea should do peoples homework. maybe they include a new auto-setting but currently there is none.

those are same people running firefox in the box and forget to unbox when the update is done and rant about both because firefox is malfunctioning.

i had the issue with uBo 1.13.10, but i always have a backup of my settings - or the complete profile which incluse the ublock0.sqlite. i tried 1.13.11rc and imported my settings and all was fine. 1.14.0 as update = no problems. we always tell people to make backups before important changes - this one was an important change - and had no luck. mercy is limited.

Brummelchen, the issue I detected yesterday was that UBO 1.14 does not retain filter updates, sandboxed or unsandboxed. I updated filters and when you close and reopen Firefox, the filter updates are back to what they were before updating. I noticed this first in my W10, and then I reproduced it in my W7. If you haven't noticed the problem, you haven't looked enough. Anyway, I am back with ABP and all is well.

i am running firefox 57 for testing purpose only, firefox 55/54 dont use any webextension yet - to much trouble for now.

i did not click pauls link but i read your posting about storage.js earlier - this is the new webxtension style storing data.

(while 1.13.10 was buggy i loaded the backup).
but what you might noticed is the current issue with the indexedDB. he had it explained here:
    http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?p=14764242#p14764242
    and here
    http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?p=14764260#p14764260
it concerns v55 x86 and webextension in most cases.
thats why i am not concerned.

Perhaps 1.14 works fine in Firefox 57 but not in Firefox 55.0.3. I mean, i saw same faulty behavior in 2 computers with different systems. Its highly unlike that this problem affected only my computers, probably other people are experiencing what I saw but dont know it yet. Two months ago I switched to UBO because ABP had some issue with freezing. First time in many years I experienced any kind of issue using ABP but now its time to go back.

I didnt have a problem installing 1.13.8 but did notice a few things in different websites I visit all the time not working as good as usual so there is something going on with the addon. Too many changes, I don't know. I tested Firefox 57 in a sandbox a few times but I am not going to install it in my real system until is actually ready.
