    Sorry for this newbie question:

Assume I have an account at an VPN provider. Now I want to use it in Browser (Firefox).
Is a Firefox AddOn sufficient or do I need additionally install a VPN base (driver) on Windows?

Have a look for example at WindScribe:

They offer at their WebPages a download for Windows and another for FirefoxAddon.

I could imagine that Windows packages are on ly required I f I want to access remote servers from various local clients.
If I want to surf-only in browser the Firefox AddOn could be sufficient.

    Am I right?

Possibly it is just the opposite: I need just the Windows VPN driver and the Firefox AddOn is just for additional tasks like AdBlocking,....

    It does not become clear.

    Thank you
    Peter

if you install the client, your whole internet traffic will be routed thru vpn server.
if you use the add-on,then just your browser will be routed thru vpn server.
