There is no more keyword.url entry in the about:config. So how now do I go about setting an alternate option for my url bar? I want to use Ixquick. I used to copy and paste this link from their FAQ into the value beside that keyword.url entry, but that's obviously no longer an option.

    Hi luciddream,

When you bring up a new tab and type in the address bar "about:config" and enter it, it is possible to create a "New" preference name for the missing "keyword.url" by simply right-clicking on the Preference Name field - you should see and be able to select the "New" option.

Yeah I know that, but I wasn't sure if creating the value myself would screw something up. Like maybe "keyword.url" has just been re-named as something else, and doing that would create some conflict. Does anyone know if that's the case?

You can search the source code (via https://mxr.mozilla.org/) to see if there are still references to the preference. Searching the release (https://mxr.mozilla.org/mozilla-release/search?string=keyword.url) shows none.

You can search Mozilla's Bugzilla (via https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/query.cgi) to see if there are any bug reports (open or closed, thus status all) that mention the preference and perhaps that it has been removed or renamed. An example of this (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/buglis...cific&order=changeddate DESC,&query_based_on=) leads to a number of results you might want to read, but to get you started...
