I cant speak for nightly tester tools, but you can with the "Mr tech local install" extension. You just drag the *.xpi to firefox window (or download it) and check "overwrite maxversion compability checking"

Not sure which "make compatible extension" Nadirah is referencing, perhaps Mr. Tech. After you install Mr. Tech you will be asked if you wish to make compatible any extensions you install there after. If it is a different "make compatible extension" then I would guess it works in the same fashion but Nadirah will have to clarify. Usually all that is done is the max. version written into the extension is over written.

with Mr. Tech Local Install, u can make extension(s) compatible at the moment u install them or any time afterwards.

just open up the Add-Ons (Extensions) window > Tools > and select "Make all compatible"

Hi, I am referencing to the Nightly Tester Tools extension which can make all other installed extensions compatible. Only extensions which are installed. If a extension is not installed how can it be made compatible?

    These are my installed extensions:

I understand what you are saying. In the case of FF 2.0 and earlier extensions that were not compatible could not be installed. In my case I use Mr. Tech which gives me the option of making them compatible prior to\during install. If I chose not to they will not install. At least in my experience I have never seen FF allow me to install a non-compatible extension.

529, 729? Those are big figures. So even 512MB of RAM can't save your computer from crashing.
You need 4GB of RAM to save your skin.

If u have these figure u must not have used FF. That,s not memory leak, it,s memory burst that nobody can tolerate.

i do remember seeing a picture of task manager where firefox's memory usage was around those number is not higher so i would say its real. but it also depends on the version ur using, how many and which extensions u installed, and how long u leave firefox running.

geez. mines 115k with 6 tabs one is the online game runescape. but it doesnt drop much if i end runescape tab. i have the following extensions, adblock adblock updater g set, download statusbar, download them all, IE tab, siteadvisor, no script, pdf downloader, tab sidebar, video downloader.

I still dont get why it uses so much usage with so little tabs.

opera uses 80k memory using the same website on the same pages i copied and pasted the links in to opera to check.

80k in opera is still alot of memory used.

it suddenly went down to 105k when i opened runescape in a tab which is odd it going down and atm using 620mb of ram.
i cant wait to install nod32 and use less ram and cpu.

Just a little question about firefox 2.0. I do have some problems. Windows are freezing and I have to close them all before I can use firefox again. Anybody?

you shouldnt just measure performance by ram usage. you should also consider how much ram you have and cpu speed. not just mem usage.
