    "FireEye's Mandiant 'victim of cyberattack'

FireEye says it is investigating the claims but has not found any evidence of a breach 'thus far'

FireEye's Mandiant consultancy firm appears to be the victim of a cyberattack after a note purported to be from the hacker spread on social media.

At the same time a FireEye analyst's LinkedIn appeared to have also been hacked, with the perpetrator posting numerous expletive-laden messages...

Twitters users began sharing a link to a document that appeared to show details of the attack - claiming the hacker first gained access to Mandiant in 2016...."

    UPDATE

"...Cyber security firm FireEye said on Monday one of its researchers based in Israel had several of his online accounts hacked by unknown attackers, but added the breach did not appear to involve any company systems...

'Our investigation continues, but thus far we have found no evidence FireEye or Mandiant systems were compromised.' "

NB. FireEye will be making every effort to contain the full details of this event today as it is due to report its second quarter earnings tommorrow. Currently FireEye is down 3% on the NASDQ = nothingburger that could possibly turn into a BigMac.

"Hackers Breach Cybersecurity Company In Apparent Revenge On Employee...

The hackers got their hands on some internal data about the clients Mandiant and its parent company FireEye protect, including the Israeli Defense Forces. Mandiant confirmed the data breach.

'We are aware of reports that a Mandiant employee’s social media accounts and personal laptop have been compromised. We are investigating this situation, and have taken steps to limit further exposure,...To date, we have confirmed the exposure of business documents related to two separate customers in Israel, and have addressed this situation with those customers directly.'..."

No matter "how you spin this one," it's damn embarrassing when a security company of FireEye's standing has their systems breached. If the personal laptop was compromised, it would have provided a direct conduit to the internal network.
