Couldn't one simply use Finjan SecureBrowsing itself?

SecureTwitter is built into the latest version of Finjan SecureBrowsing. Its not a seperate product.

That article is a bit misleading as according to addons.mozilla.org, Finjan SecureBrowsing hasn't been updated since June 15, 2008.

    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addons/versions/4892

FWIW, I have Finjan Version 1.314 installed in Firefox, but disabled and rarely use it. I seen this article elsewhere a couple of days ago and for the hell of it, re-enabled Finjan and navigated to some random Twitter pages. At least 50% of the links on each page were still being scanned after 1 minute - not good :( .

Edit: I just reinstalled SecureBrowsing again directly from Finjan's site and it is still Version 1.314 o_O
