    Hi Guys,

Television commercials for 'finallyfast. c o m' are hitting the airwaves in my area. Finally fast 60 second spots claim to fix all or most all problems with a PC, including malware problems. I visited the site, in Shadow Mode, & downloaded there free scanner. Double click the scanner, & NOD32 immediately quarantined a virus. That was enough for me, reboot & all traces of the attempted install of the scanner were gone. This malware is very brazen, by attempting to appear legitimate, via TV ads.

    Take Care & Merry Christmas
    Rico

This sort of thing has been going on for a while now, computer security is a very profitable business these days, both for the good and the bad guys.

    Ho Ho Ho,

Yeah I got it, & would not touch it without Shadow Mode. But this is really foul advertising on TV. Can't or shouldn't this be reported, this is akin to advertising criminal activity over the boob tube.

    Merry Christmas
    Rico

Edit: I just remembered 'Site Advisor' lit up like Rudolphs nose visiting them. <should have remembered that in post 1>

There was another ad on TV. Think the site was called Stop sign. When these ads come on the wife and I just look at each other, laugh, and wait for the regularly scheduled programs to resume.

    Hi,

Absolutely a joke, but the brazen thing is the manner in which they advertise, there malware. They flaunt there wares, over regulated airwaves. Daring someone to blow the whistle on them.

I see what you are saying, but I notice that legitmate television stations often advertise fake products such as US Fidelis Extended Car Warranties and I guess it's akin to Google having malware advertisng links on it's site after doing a search.

But it's kind of scary thinking about the amount of people who saw the Finally Fast commercial who are not up on internet security and who downloaded this program.

Thanks djohn for the pics and thanks to LoneWolf for the rogue link :thumb:

Hopefully the message will get out that folks don't need products such as this.

    # 1 call for us recently is about Rogue Security Software...
What kills me is how easy it is for these people to get fooled by these bogus applications...

As for reporting it, I would start by contacting those who actually profit from broadcasting those adds in the first place... The TV channels who probably did not investigate if the company advertising was in fact a real business...

Ahhhhh, the evils of targeted pop-ups and those that do not know their source or intention. Still amazing to me that many people think they are normal or can not be avoided.
