Anyone install Filseclab Personal Firewall Professional Edition?
Is it good and lite?
It is pretty light and I liked it, but that was years ago. It's not been updated for a long time I think. Rule based, and seemed fairly decent at the time.
i see.... thanks...
I still use it on and off, its a little leaky but inbound protection is good, wish they would update it
Filseclab was discussed at length here some time back:
One thing I very much liked was it's logging, in that every log entry's "allowed" or "blocked" bit of traffic is associated to a specific rule number. Makes diagnosing any issues fairly easy.
just to confirm - this firewall is definitely not compatible with vista?
No, it's not Vista compatible.
32-bit Win95/98/ME/NT/2000 Professional, Server, Advanced Server/XP/2003
The current Filseclab firewall has been abbandoned for years in its development and the code is for sale for years now:
Did you know, the Source Code of Filseclab Personal Firewall Standard Edition is for sale, if you are interested in it, you may view here !!
The NEW version of the firewall, which from what i understand is completely rewritten and will be launched hopefully after summer, according to what i 've read , will be fully Vista compatible.
