    Hi,

On my parents computer, in the file system activity, the "amount of read data" is always being read, never on 0b. This doesn't happen on my computer, only on my parents laptop, and my parents have commented on how annoying it is as the hard disk is always making a sound continuously for over an hour etc. I don't know what it is, but I was guessing it was spyware? But I've scanned everything and nothing ever shows up. Can anyone help? Thanks

Maybe defragmentation or indexing that is being run? Or an on-demand scan you might have scheduled? Perhaps you could create a log from ProcMon to see what file operations are being performed by particular processes.
