    Hello,

I have a friend who accidentally moved some of his files to another folder by accidentally drag-and-dropping on his touchpad (Lenovo notebook).

The files were moved to a folder called 9433....b32... a sort of a generic name that he says are created every time he does a Windows update.

Now, since the files are inaccessible, including Safe Mode. There's no Group Policy editor as he runs XP Home.

Before I try a live CD to salvage his data, does anyone have uber-wise trick to suggest - something to trick Windows file permissions for this folder?

Try this, scheduling instead explorer.exe (unless the parent process is different).

    Hello.

Before you start with LiveCD, try to change ownership of the folder, following this tip from our favorite gurus...

    Cheers.
