So it's not an attack on the fedora forum itself.
And I would think that Fedora users would know when and how to deal with this kind of thing. What's next? Ubuntu/Mint users will be tricked into downloading and installing a "help-me.deb" file? I mean, if it's on the forums and the admins didn't take it out, it must be legit, amirite.
It seems there is too much trust in the Linux community when it comes to forums and OS's. In this regard, these attacks are actually a good thing, it makes us keep both eyes opened
That's just plain scary.
@AutoCascade, thanks for posting that!
Lol nasty idea of a phishing site.
A mod from UF pointed out that that Fedora thread started in 2013
Indeed. 2.5 years old news.
Two and a half years old but still scary!
Someone must have posted to the old thread, which I'd never seen before there, so I made the wrong assumption that it was recent - sorry my mistake.
That's what seems to be happening there. Someone or the other keeps bumping that. Does that forum have a "necro" policy?
