Mrk, I'd tell newbie users to skip Fedora and install Korora Project and save themselves a lot of the work to make it usable. Korora Project already already has all of the stuff Fedora doesn't and it comes out of the box, ready to use. That's because its a Fedora Remix.

There's also Chapeau - another Fedora-based remix that brings in all the goodies Mrk recommends be installed in Fedora.
