Did you try contacting them and discussing the problem?

yep see i use a mac and use macbootcamp via parrels to use windiws in a virtual partition, When i use 3.6 it wipes the partition AND cORRUPTS IT and i lose everything,
. I have tried 3.6 twice With the same results i`m not willing to try 3.6 anymore!!! it takes me to long to restore and get everything back again, i was running 3.5 perfectly but i upgraded to 3.6 and when it trashed my partition i lost my 3.5 installer i did back it up to disc but i cant find it now

the_sly_dog, it is good that you posted about the new version of AE, I've just downloaded it, and contrary to your experience it is better than 3.50 on my system (I had uninstalled it 6 month ago as it was disrupting my system too often) . It can also identify executables by digital signatures (file's fingerprint and file's publisher) .

As I said it seems to be lighter on my system even with Avira10 active. I did a test, I happen to have a CD ROM with a few infected folders (got it from a friend who wanted to know what was wrong with it). As soon as I opened the infected folders, AE blocked everything before Avira (maybe 1/2 second delay). Avira did go ahead with the removal, probably of inactive malware or just started the removal process.

I really don't know whether this digital signature business has improved its effectiveness, but it has adapted to my system very quickly without too many prompts, compared to 3.50.
