Fake Microsoft security updates circulate

    Yes, The same techniqes as used by the bank account spammers. :(

    MS NEVER send out emails about security updates with links to their site.

    These SPAMs appear to cycle around every six months or so.

    Thats just great...

    Not only do we have to keep our clients from "Verifying their bank accounts, ebay passwords, etc.." but now we have to keep them from "updating their security patches".

    I knew it wouldn't take long for someone to target users in such a manner. The general population is oh so trusting and it just increases the difficulty for those of us out there trying to protect them.

    I can hear it now..."Can you fix my computer?, I downloaded the security patch microsoft sent me in my email and now my computer is acting crazy..."

    Yes Capp, the general population is too trusting of windows update. Group think is very dangerous. But we're not like that, are we.
