They said the same a year ago, but I noticed privacy setting were still crappy as hell. Another thing I noticed is that for some reason you can't check login history anymore (both on Firefox and Vivaldi) can you guys verify this?

Exactly, nothing new but glad they got busted. Here is some related news:

Reflecting on all this, my feeling is that a FB user ought not to expect any substantial improvement from what is effectively smokescreening. FB claim they will do better in future, honest, there is talk of regulation, and hopium even hopes that the GDPR will help. My assessment is that it will not significantly, the time to have controlled the unprincipled land-grab is way past and the company and the politicians will do nothing substantive, because it's now in the "too big to fail" or "too powerful to fail" category.

Certainly the focus on CA or other brokers, and the effect on political process - important though it is - is deflecting attention from the fact that FB have outrageously grabbed the territory. Much of which was "commons" and was certainly not with my consent.

The only remedy for the product is to minimise exposure, and find alternative ways of online or offline congregation & communication - necessary for other reasons too (e.g. recent legislation).

I do hope to see Zuck sitting before Congressional hearings. Probably 75 % will come out against him. Maybe more. Much of that will be grandstanding for the cameras - this is after all an election year. But likely 50 % plus will really grill him.

USA still the best. But barely.
Zuck won't be less than a billionaire even in the wildest of extremes. Almost surely likely his worth will remain in the tens of billions.

And his freedom being taken away or even threatened will never happen.

So this is all BS. Just like all the other bring the billionaire to justice crusades. The only thing different about Zuck is you might see him take a bit of ownership of the problems FB has been complicate in. Also he might exhibit a bit of shame for what he's done. Which is more than 99% of other billionaires caught with their **** in the wringer.

The 3letters & foreign spooks will still be able to twist reality through FB.

And the FB user defection rate will be less than 1%.

Happy now? Great use of time. Twaddles all who think different.

Will be interesting to see if the US does anything similar to the EU General Data Protection Regulation, or GDPR. Election year and all that, but they are sloooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww to act.

Does anyone have a FB account? I would like to know if you can still check login history, seems like this feature has been removed. Up in till a few months ago, you could see it, but now you can only see which device is currently logged in. So there's definitely something up, why would they remove this? This feature works just fine in Gmail and Yahoo Mail.
