    Another reason to use only the mobile web version of fb.. in addition to such snooping, it is a major bloat and cannot be moved to the sd card and runs continuously in the background...this is on Android.
    But still cannot get rid of the default 2-3MB preinstalled version... :x

    Personally I say yet another reason not to use Facebook at all.

    We have a winner. Facebook is a privacy advocates nightmare - period. Just say "no" and move along. You don't owe friends any explanations either.

    I use LBE Privacy Guard to revoke permissions. This prevents facebook from accessing this stuff. I block SMS, location, etc.

    If it wasn't for my Non-Profit I wouldn't even use it.I prefer pidder (which encrypts everything PGP style).

    funny you guys posted this; i already disabled that damned account after removing all my information since this post of mine..had become quite a chore. feeling free :)

    I envy you, everytime I try and delete it I notice there is some reason to keep it. I just never really post or use it, but it's nice to have to get hold of people you know still. One day I will manage to delete!

    I also was in the same boat as you but just i put it all aside and took the plunge.
    Edit: not a plunge but an' emergence' of sorts

    facebook or twitter ? bah ! who needs that humbug, good riddance i say ;)

    p.s: ive added in twitter to the equation for good measure ;)
