Actually, FB Messenger for FF has been introduced by FB a couple months ago via pop up notification in the news feed.

My only hope for this is that Mozilla doesn't put social network icons all over Firefox and doesn't crowd it up with social feature links. If users intentionally turn the feature on, then fine. But, if we don't use these networks and don't turn it on, then leave Firefox as is. I use the "annoyance" tracking and antisocial ABP lists for a reason, I don't need nor want Mozilla deciding I should see all this stuff whether I like it or not.

Edit: I think it humorous that social things are pushed the way they are, considering the "social world" consists of almost one company entirely. Twitter use has fallen dramatically over the last couple of years and Google+1 has really never gotten its wheels off the runway.
