f-secure and drivers warning

Hi as most people are aware you are normally told to turn off your av while installing drivers but i never have and its been fine. but f-secure deepguard decided to block the creative sound driver. as you know im gonna get rid of it but im warning people who use it.

i have had no problems with installing any drivers with f-secure, maybe set up wrong?

just a note on this, in system control i had it set to "ask me"
on this setting, it would pop up with an allow / deny thing when trying to install a program, or a registry change of some kind.

 

it came up with popup saying blocked the driver because it was trying to put stuff in to the registry.

i put it on ask when case is unclear and not the one you use.

i think f-secure is just protecting your registry,

but there are options that will enable the installation, plus in application control, just change it to allow, if you want to keep those particular settings.

 

i do agree it was protecting my registry but it had an option dont promt about known software and i think creative is known enough to be on that list.
