I'm thinking about giving F-Prot a try on one of my computers. Does it have a web scanner? I saw on the screen shots it shows support for IE, however I use Firefox.

    Thanks for your help.

    No, it doesn't have a web/HTTP scanner.

It does however have internet explorer protection which monitors all code downloads and can help to protect against things like malicious activex controls.

Also isn't the updater disabled on the trial version?

No - it'll work as long as your trial license is still active.

The limitations are misleading; the updater will work as long as you select the option to get a trial subscription key.

Is the paid licence still good for more than one computer?

Yes, purchasing the Home version allows installation on up to 5 computers for $29 US and the Corporate version allows up to 10 for $50 US.

Great . I suggested a friend of mine at work consider it as part of a layered approch as he has multiple computers at home. Now can anyone say why their last participation at AV-Comparatives was the Retrospective test in November 2007?

Since I have only one computer, a license should cost me 1/5th of $29, or $5.80, right? However, in the spirit of maintaining amicable relations with Icelanders, I will accept a $1 discount, and pay $28. Good of me, wot!
