    Hi all.

    F-Prot can detect more viruses when :-
    1-Configured correctly, Scan-> Advance-> Use heuristics-> Enable neural network.
    2-Scanning by F-Prot OnDemand scanner itself not by shell extension via (Right-Click).

    While I do know of the configuration options, I am curious to know why F-Prot would detect less when a scan is triggered by the shell extension/right click option. Can you shed some light on this please? :)

    From what i understand all antiviruses, they all check files in extra thorough mode when scanning through context menu...
    I can confirm that for avast!,BitDefender,NOD32,Kaspersky,AntiVir,AVG and probably many others.

    F-Prot was always weird from my point of view. No matter how good it scores in tests it always looked weird to me (detection and function wise).

    I think heuristic scanning is off by default when using shell_Mode.

    I have an infected cd, F-Prot detect more than 20% of suspicious objects by using (On demand) scanning mode.

    :)
