exclude

i have some really heavy files, which I would liukle to exclude from the image. Is this possible?

You can select entire disk(s) or partition(s). You can't exclude on file level. You could decide to place those files on a separate partition which you backup with a lower frequency.

Personally, I think the strenght of TrueImage is to make reguarly full backups and incrementals in between. In your case this could give some relief if the large files you mention aren't updated frequently.

Backups are to be made with a simple as possible restore in mind

 

I'd rather call this a weakness. From other hand a backup software
that can work both on filesystem and 'raw' block device level
most likely would cost you a fortune. So I do agree with Rik
