Does the latest TI support backing up only part of a partition?

    For example:
John Doe would like to make na image of his whole partition except the directory GAMES!
    Is that possible?

AFAIK, that is only possible with a Files/Folders backup.
A disk/partition backup is (and should remain IMHO) just that, a whole disk/partition

John Doe might consider having a partition dedicated to GAMES leaving him free to backup non GAMES partitions.

With FILES/FOLDERS backup is it possible to backup the entire system drive minus the things I do not want to, and when needed extract this image and have a working Windows again?

I can't say for sure, but I doubt the MBR will be backed up.
If you'll need that or not, who knows?

about the MBR couldn't care less, since my MBR resides on an EXT2 partition hosting GRUB.
But I am curious would it restore Windows to its former "glory"

    Hello ashrack,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

We are sorry for the delayed response.

Please note that as other Forum members mentioned it is impossible to exclude certain files/folders from the disk/partition image. I would recommend that you have a look at this previous thread it should answer your question.

    Thank you.
