Since updating from NOS32 v5 to v6, I have noticed that (seemingly during startup scans) NOD32 viciously grinds the heads of my empty 3.5" floppy drive.

Yes, some of our machines require floppy drives for legacy reasons, don't start....

I am reasonably sure that the problem is caused by NOD32, and only since updating to V6. I have tried disabling everything I can find in the setup tree relating to the A: drive, but to no avail.

Has anyone else noticed this phenomenon or discovered a fix/workaround?

Have you tried uninstalling NOD32 completely and seeing if the issue persists? It's possible the timing of the issue could be a complete coincidence.

If the problem disappears when NOD32 is uninstalled but returns when you reinstall it, try excluding your floppy drive from real-time scanning by following the steps here:

How do I exclude certain files or folders from Real-time scanning?
