I want to get Ewido for the sole purpose of an on-demand backup scanner; I understand it is 100% free for this use as well. In the future I will be installing another AT to run resident. I don’t want to bother installing the resident protection that Ewido gives you for 14 days, is there any way of doing this and just installing the on demand scanner?

Unfortunately ewidoctr.exe still needs to load on startup even if one uses Ewido as on demand scanner.

Really? Thats odd, I would rather not having an extra process for something I am using as an on demand scanner only. What happens if you remove it from running at startup? Will the program still work?

    No..... :'(

But on another side it doesn't take much memory. In any case that you computer require more memory it does drop to below 600K..........

    ( 444 K currently on my system.... )

Although honestly i would still like to get rid of it.
