Ewido and Messenger programs

    A friend of mine has ewido installed and her MSN and Yahoo messenger programs have stopped working.
    I'm trying to troubleshoot her PC but I'm not familiar with ewido.
    Could ewido have caused this? Is it likely that ewido has blocked these programs?

    is there a comms file that is common to both MSN and Yahoo that could have been infected and deleted/quarantined?

    Its probably a warmware issue.
