I am on a stand alone computer(sorta-kinda) and have no need for any remote control. Under the Advanced Tab/wake-up capabilities I have a choice of either Magic Packets & Pattern or just Pattern. I am thinking I should choose Pattern only. Is this correct? Any-other comments concerning Properties/Advanced would be appreciated.

For a magic packet (WOL) to be sent to your computer to wake it up, you would need to have both a program to send a properly constructed wakeup packet as well as the MAC address to send it to. If you are behind a router and don't have the UDP (typically) port(s) open, and no other computers in your house, it should be an irrelevant setting for you.
