Here's an article showing a number of essential post-install tweaks for the Plasma editon of Manjaro Linux, including free vs nonfree drivers, package management with pacman, pamac and AUR, additional software, icons and themes changes, printer settings, Samba configuration, and more. Enjoy. https://www.dedoimedo.com/computers/manjaro-plasma-essential-tweaks.html Cheers, Mrk
Thanks for that article which contains some good recommendations. However, I'm afraid that if it comes to package management you're providing bad advice. You mention that you installed packages by executing Code: sudo pacman -Sy manjaro-settings-samba and Code: sudo pacman -Sy system-config-printer This reminds me of your remarks in a previous review of Manjaro 18.04 Xfce where you wrote: You are again neglecting that Manjaro is an Arch-based rolling distro - and this fact requires some discipline. See what the Arch wiki says: That's why it would be a bad design if Pamac would allow you to install a package without updating the complete system. And that's why you shouldn't provide code examples where you installed packages using sudo pacman -Sy as this could get newbies into trouble.
