ESS Antispam - too heavy

When I installed ESS yesterday, my Outlook 2003 crashes three times at startup. Overall system performance turns too heavy. Then I want to close it and a message of ESS appears saying "4xxx objects remain" (or some like that) with a regressive counter.
I suppose delay was due PST scanning, but why ESS scan old messages without a warning (I have ten thousand messages into Inbox). ESS Antispam should check only INCOMING email, and should scan folders with old messages ONLY IF USER wants to do it (manually of course).
I wasted a lot of time reordering many old emails considered as spam.

I think heaviness was by initial unsolicited scanning, is this a bug?

there is no option to disable confirmation

I think should exist an option to disable this confirmation box:
"Reclassify selected messages as spam?".
