I installed the above this morning on a 64 bit I 7 machine running Win 8 and all access to the local drive (c:\) has been removed. I am the administrator and still get no access. I cannot uninstall or make any adjustments at all. Please can someone help me?

    Cheers

What are your security settings on drive c ?

I had this in the past (without eset) after doing a new install of windows 7 - somehow the security settings where wrong after install.

If u are using windows 8 - there are very strong security settings.....

Renaming which of the following files in safe mode makes the issue disappear?
    C:\Windows\System32\drivers\eamonm.sys
    C:\Windows\System32\drivers\ehdrv.sys

I am having the same issue but am not experienced with working with Windows 8. Until now I've been using XP. First I don't know how to get into safe mode. Second- do I just access the C drive with Windows and change the name of these files to anything? Lastly, do I need to use different security software?

Got to safe mode but I don't have admin access to the files. I get access errors. Ran config and can see the files but cannot make any changes.

Let's see what an ESET moderator can come up with.

I got impatient and called eset. It took a couple of minutes to fix the issue. I have a Dell and the anti-theft program is a problem with the new Dells. They have a malware program they can run from a website that restores permissions.

I'm having the same problem. I tried to restore through system restore but it is not possible because I can't access my Drive C. Uninstalling ESS6 is also impossible. Reinstalling windows didn't work either because the system can't access and drivers.

    Can someone help me please.

    Thanks!

This rather sounds like a hardware issue. You can definitely rule out ESS if the issue occurs in safe mode, too.
