The problem is you don't have any "facts" on which to base an opinion, just hearsay.

well, regardless of what LWM may say, i see no reason for Sergey to post if its not indeed true.

i see no personal gain from Sergey wrongly attacking Eset, why would he bother?

You're right; I don't have "facts", only facts, which were given in post 46. Now you can disagree with them if you wish, but let's not insult everyone's intelligence by pretending they don't exist.

Surely the claim made about the passport scan should be reasonably easy to prove or disprove, and if it is proven surely eset would be liable to prosecution on some data protection laws,or don't things like that exist in Russia?

This is what you said in post 46.

All I see is your opinion, which you certainly are entitled too. But I don't see any facts proven or otherwise that backs up OP's assertions. That is all I was saying.

this is better than the missing tapes from the watergate mess...no facts, here say , end of discussion... unless the gentlemen who started this thread has proof. Also funny he hasn't posted since to back himself up, so I say his allegations are baloney...

Employees of companies sometimes do things without the knowledge or consent of their employer(in fact sometimes against company policy)
This(if it did take place)may have been one of these instances, and for all we know Eset may now be holding an internal investigation to try and get to the bottom of this, and if that is taking place would be the reason no "official response" has been forthcoming:-how often have you seen such responses rushed out, without the full facts being known, only to be contadicted a few days later by another "official response" when more of the facts have surfaced? Those events,in my opinion, make a company(goverment??)seem less trustworthy than ones that actually take the time to investigate fully in the 1st place

That the OP has nothing to gain and is going to end up very much worse off if these events have not transpired is a fact. That the only ESET spokesperson to give a token response in the form of a personal statement even after 48 hours is also a fact. Not so much as even an acknowledgement that they're investigating this.

There's nothing solid to pin ESET down in a legal court, but for those who walk the corridors of corporate power, what a court decides sometimes have very little to do with what's actually going on. ESET never had any problems about being very vocal when their interests are concerned in the past, as shown by their condemnation of various antivirus tests. I understand some people might try to take the moral high ground and claim impartiality until more evidence surfaces. But as far as I'm concerned, this is just another one in the strings of less-than-pleasant incidents ESET has been involved in. And when such things have a habit of recurring...

No , silence is the onliest ... CIVIL way one can stay away from such a mean and stupid discussion . Can't you people realise how stupid (some of) you look like in such a thread . You believe each and every thing said or written and from a single post you "created" "facts" . There are NO facts here , there is NO proof . Come on! If it was something in the real world , one will acuse somebody else and just from their words , you are ready to kill the other person , with NO facts , just a post .

Damn , how you are even sure the OP is the real Sergey . It can be someone else pretending to be him. And even if there is something , a public forum is definitely NOT the place where this should be discussed and we all are nobody to even get any facts or evidenses . Even if there is something , it is between ESET and Anti-Malware.ru , not between Member X and Member Y from Wilderssecurity forums. As you can see the OP is not here to comment further , he ? lost interest ? , but you didn't ?!?

And deny us the pleasure of seeing what kind of response ESET finally comes up with?

    That'd be a shame, don't you think?

Dear , please go back to school . Did you miss post number 24 ?
As I said , it is not our job to get any response , to see whatever more about this . Even if there is something , it is between ESET and Anti-Malware.ru , not between YOU (solcroft) , ESET and Anti-malware.ru

    Silence for me! :thumb:

Where is the OP now ? Sorry , I can't see him ................ Member with just 2 posts so far . Came here , left the bomb and immediately left the ship , leaving you fight and talk nonsense . If the aim is to create bullshit , well the OP successfully achieved it .

There is nothing to believe in , really... there is nothing , empty space , words with no back-up , no real meaning .

I think that you misunderstood the hole thing, buddy. Please tell me where's the meat in this story?! If Sergey had postet the thread WITH the proof, I for one, would have been the first to await ESET's side of the story. Since that haven't happened, I think this thread is going nowhere. It's just "I think..they should...and maybe...who's licking who's"
Let me repeat, please bring me some meat in this story.

    Cheers

1- As to highly-skilled technical fields (such as designing AV apps) it is sometimes true that...

+++Those who want to do it and CAN do it, do it.
+++Those who want to do it but CANNOT do it, write reviews about it.

2- It is sometimes true that a *reviewer* hides in the hills while the battle is being fought. After the battle is over, the *reviewer* comes down to the battle field and shoots the wounded.

3- One problem with repeatedly advertising that your product is the very best product is the fact that you eventually might come to believe your own ads.

Now, Sergey, why aren't you replying? I can't wait to hear some more from you. I am VERY sceptical to your first-post comment.

A failing shared by most vendors. After all I can't recall a vendor saying; Were not too bad but so and so is better than us or buy our stuff because next year we'll be as good as so and so. It's all just software people.

Why doesn't everybody wait to see what happens between the two "warring" parties:-it will get resolved one way or another,it will either blow over or we will get statements from both sides(perhaps with proof!)over what has REALLY gone on.
All sniping at one side or the other on here isn't going to alter what has really happened(or didn't happen as the case may be)so JUST WAIT!
