I am trying to create a restore cd. But it is asking for an MSI file (virus definition?). I am wondering where I can source one from. I am a registered Nod32 user.

Most probably you are running 64-bit OS, is it right? Otherwise SyRescue defaults to use ESS/EAV installed in your OS. But in case of 64-bit OS, it is not possible, then SysRescue needs 32-bit MSI file of ESS/EAV to work fine.
