ESET smart setup ended prematurely because of an error. Your system has not been modified.

Can anyone help me with this, in that I have no clue of what has to be modified on my system and what 'system is the message referring to?

Hi,

try to use the uninstaller before the installation

after that, try to run a clean installation. Also, what is your OS and the version you are trying to install?

I downloaded a trial version of ESET smart (Did not give a version) and as far as OS is concerned I haven't a clue. In other words my knowledge is limited...Old man

Just switched the light on! My operating system is vista 32 bit...OM

 

Just looked at the uninstall instructions and found there is nothing to uninstall yet as the installation was interrupted and cancelled...OM

 

This is the info given as far as the version goes:-

I will tackle the fix as soon as I am back home. Looks like the game driver might be the solution. Will also flush out the unwanted files and let you know what happened...OM
