May be a silly question and could have very well already been addressed, but I can not find the answer to my question anywhere here. Will ESET still offer NOD32 as a stand alone AV once ESET SS goes Alpha? Thanks and sorry if I missed my answer somewhere.

This has been said numerous times in this forum - there will be a standalone AV available.

I don't think it's been said for a while - and not sure that the name of ESS had been released up until after the last time it was mentioned...

What do you mean by going "Alpha?" ESET SS is already past that point and in the beta stage.

Not sure what the OP wanted to say but in some countries we understand Alpha something really perfect and unbeatable ;)

Right. Top dog. Best of the best.

Funny how meanings can be so different depending on where you live.

Well we are talking software here and I've never seen alpha software mean anything other than pre-beta.

Most important is the fact that this is only the first ESS beta. It works pretty well but it still needs some adjustments.

But I must say it works better than some of the competitors

Alpha IS pre-Beta. Always has been, always will be...

Alpha, Beta (maybe public), RC (Release Candidate), Final.

:D Alpha is the first letter in the Greek alphabet. Then comes Beta.
So, alpha is obviously pre-beta.
