I'd like to note one more time that these settings are not necessary to be downloaded . Version 3 has much much better by default settings which the average user may need need to change .

The two xml files hide the settings I use on my computers :)

I guess what I'm really after, and you guys are probably getting tired of me asking this, is to be able to see the progress screen when my scheduled scan is taking place. Will that xml file that the link in post # 170 points to, accomplish this?

Sorry to keep bringing up this same subject.

Old news. If you read ALL the article, it stated it will be available for purchase on Nov 5, 2007. Still a lot of questions to be answered about terms of purchase.

EDIT: We made posts at the same time. ;-)

What OS are you using ? If it's Vista then you can end the egui process in task manger and re-start the Eset GUI but make sure to 'run as administrator'.

Then you will have option to bring the running scan to the foreground which shows progress.

You could set the GUI to always start as admin if you wanted.

If you are not on Vista then I can't help.

I'm not sure if the XML file from post # 170 can be used with XP. HiTech-boy will know for sure!

It can. I tried it earlier. The one thing you might want to check is how you have protocol filtering setup. With his download it changes it to HTTP and Pop3 filtering which is the first choice.. I personally like the 3rd choice.

Beta 2 is no longer supported by ESET . It is too old and buggy version compared to the current available for the public Release Candidate 1 . Install from www.eset.eu/download/beta

11-1 Edit: Saw a later post that infers the AV-Only Install Shows "Expired"--- "until you Update". I must have seen "Expired" and quit reading. Sorry if that's the case--
Marcos: I Re-downloaded (from this Thread's Link) the 32 bit 3.0 AV-Only yesterday after finding that the Test Period was Extended beyond 11-1.The application (today Nov. 1 shows "Expired" AFTER you go through Install process. You should Remove these Download Links UNLESS you've Updated since yesterday.
