eset smart requires your attention

I've been seeing this popup on occasion as described in these posts:

After installing 4.2.71.2, I didn't see the popup for several months. Recently, it has started again. This time, as soon as I click on the tray icon, the popup appears, simultaneously, the protection status is all green. It seems to happen most often shortly after waking the computer in the morning.

 

Since you're getting this with the latest version, I have to ask if you have also checked to make sure you have all the available updates for your Operating System? Also, have you run an on-demand scan to see if this may possible caused by malware?

 

The Ghost Flag issue has and is under investigation by ESET at this time.

 

I have been experiencing the same problem. Window 7 Ultimate 64, ESET Smart Security 4.2.71.2. Happens randomly. All Windows updates are installed.

Yes to both questions. On occasion, there has been a legitimate alert when a MS update was awaiting installation. It is the false popup that is the problem. It "feels" like the timing is a second or two off. The flag is thrown then cleared before the full gui is visible.
