ESET slows down internet

When I install ESET Smart Security, my internet slows down. However, if I uninstall it, my internet speed goes back to normal. Why is that? For now, my antivirus is AVG Internet Security.

Just to clarify, you did not have AVG installed along side ESET Smart Security, correct? Here is a KB article that might help your issue.

Nope, only one antivirus.

 

How did you measure the slowdown? Is it that websites open slower after installing ESS or you used a test application to measure the speed?
Does disabling firewall or web protection (temporarily) make a difference?

 

The first option. I haven't tried that. Anyway, thanks for the help. I put the Personal firewall to Interactive mode.
