Donno what ppl have so much against ActiveX even when used for good purpose. ActiveX is only bad when designed as such...

I have nothing against it per se. Just that as far as I know it's ie only. No big deal, though. :)

except that ie usage is often the target of trojans/worms etc to prevent their own removal...

Is its On-Demand detection identical to the one of the retail version of NOD32 ?

I hope they will add the option to choose the scan options, and to choose which drives and directories we want to scan...

And make it in Java to be executed by any browser...

These features will be really great!

    Hi,

A general question about the online-scanner and smitRem :

And now see this thread about smitRem:
    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=141079

In that last thread was talked about "Potential Dangerous Application".

    1.
Am I right that it is now called "Potential Unsafe Application" or is it "Potential Unwanted Application" (I am always confused between those two names)?

    2.
Seeing the equivalent options as quoted above, does it mean that the online-scanner flags smitRem?

    Thanks in advance ;)

    To answr my own questions:

    1.
"Potential Dangerous Application" is called "Potentially Unsafe Applications".

    2.
Does the online scanner flags smitRem?
    Yes, that must be right.
I haven't used the online scanner, but after having downloaded smitRem I did two full scans with NOD32.
    2a.
First without checkmark in the box "Potentially Unsafe Applications".
smitRem was not detected by NOD32.
    2b.
Second scan with a checkmark in the box "Potentially Unsafe Applications".
Now I got this warning from NOD32:
    D:\smitRem\smitRem.exe »ZIP »smitRem/Process.exe - Win32/PrcView application
    2c.
Since the online scanner uses the switch /UNSAFE the online scanner must detect it also.

    Hello!

Today I tried the online scanner for the first time . I am really impressed , run really smooth with IE6 . I disabled ESS's file protection not to have files scanned twice . Scan speed is the same as my ESS .

SUGGESTION => Eset , please add an option in the final version to create a log file afterwards . Thanks you ! :)

I will definetely try this but when it will stop being in beta. I think it is great that it also cleans and not only scans... Same complaints with others...Would like Java support, logging and i want to choose what i want to scan!

I think it is great that they finally got an online scanner :thumb:
But like others have mentioned in the thread, it would be better if the user had a choice of which locations to scan, not just defaulting to scan all drives.
