Im running 64bit win 7, every time I boot up and get to the main screen, I see a box pop saying" installing device software". Then I open the box and it shows eset personnal firewall mini port software install, and it list ports. Now it started with 4 now its up to 7 and growing evey time boot up there is a another port on the list. Now I had this program for3 months no problem. I install on a clean win 7 retail home prem. P4 dual core, with 4 gigs ram. 750 sata, geforce 9400 gt with 1gig mem.

here is the sats on the program:
    ver. 4.0.467.0
    Virus signature database: 4674 (20091209)
    Update module: 1031 (20091029)
Antivirus and antispyware scanner module: 1250 (20091207)
    Advanced heuristics module: 1099 (20091030)
    Archive support module: 1105 (20091029)
    Cleaner module: 1048 (20091123)
    Anti-Stealth support module: 1012 (20090526)
    Personal firewall module: 1054 (20091015)
    Antispam module: 1013 (20091104)
    SysInspector module: 1213 (20090902)
    Self-defense support module : 1009 (20090917)

Now I'm pretty good with xp, but dont have a clue where to look in 7. Any thought....

Does disabling self-defense and restarting the computer make a difference? Also make sure to install the latest build of ESS 4.0.474.

After I disabled the self defence, and rebooted the computer it installed all but the 596 port. 1st does disabling the self defence open me up for attacks, and 2nd, what does it do. And the port 596, what does it do?
