    Hey,

    that's strange.

But I already complained in my thread, that there are firewall modules/files/filters/dlls by default in the installation directory of NOD32 AV 3.0..

    That's strange and unnecessary! :cautious:

Why the NOD32 AV 3.0 RC1 installer does have these files included?
    They are useless..

    Here my thread for details:

    best regards,

Yes, I can confirm I only have ESET NOD32 Antivirus RC 1 (Prior to that, Beta 2 & NOD32 V2.70) installed.

I do not have ESS installed before (as I already own a copy of Outpost Firewall Pro with lifetime license).

While downloading the latest Virus signature database, I noticed there was a downloaded file with size approximately 7 MB.

    Could this be the problem?

    Please carry on as follows:
    - compress the content of the "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Eset\Eset Smart Security\Updfiles" folder and upload it to an ftp server (if you don't have any, send me a PM and I'll provide you with an account)
    - run regedit and export the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Eset registry key to a reg file
    - send an email with this thread's url in the subject and the reg file attached to support[at]eset.com

AFAIK web scanner depends on firewall component in ESS so i think EAV have firewall component in order to get web scanner functional.

The amazing thing is when I logged on to my PC this morning, ESET NOD32 Antivirus becomes normal again.

The firewall components have disappeared from it!

Regarding the file with size > 7MB, I think it is nod1165.nup (the actual size is 7,192 KB).

I have just sent you an email with the reg file (under ESET.rar).

Please PM me a FTP account.

Note: There is no C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Eset\Eset Smart Security, it is ESET NOD32 Antivirus

Look in your C:\Program Files\Eset Folder or where you installed ESET NOD32 AV in my case it is on D:\Program Files\ESET Folder and look for this file eguiEpfw.dll 3.0.414.0 Eset Personal Firewall UI.

    Cheers,

    TH

    Marcos,

Don't have to arrange a FTP account for me.

I have already sent you the Updfiles in the following manner (my email account can send attachment up to 10MB)-

Updfiles.rar containing all (except the Temp folder) , sent via email under Subject: ESET NOD32 Antivirus becomes haywire - Continue

Updfiles1.rar containing the Temp folder(it only contains the file em002_32.dat), sent via email under Subject: ESET NOD32 Antivirus becomes haywire - Continue 1

    Please check.

Note: the reg file (under ESET.rar) sent via email under Subject: ESET NOD32 Antivirus becomes haywire
