It can be installed over older versions so that the settings are preserved.
Yes sooner or later, but it can take up to a couple of weeks until it becomes available via the built-in updater. But you can download it manually and install over your current installation too, or make a fresh install uninstall/new install.

Endpoint based on v6 is not planned to be available any time soon. What specific features from v6 are you missing in the current version of Endpoint?
No specific features as such, I'm just curious why all the effort (at least, publicly) seems to be going into the "home" stream. There's always things of interest in the changelog for home (e.g. "Outlook 2013 crashes and automatic send/receive feature not working") - do these problems only ever apply to Home or would Business users benefit from them also? I use ESET EndPoint Business and I use Outlook 2013. Many thanks Jim
The point is to have business products as much stable as possible. A newer service build of ERA and Endpoint addressing known issues, such as those with MS Outlook 2013, will be introduced soon.
