    hello,
i thought i would do a simple poll to see who prefers the
    eset nod32 2.7 interface
and who prefers the eset ess interface.
i prefer the 2.7 inteface atm.
you could explain why if you want.
i prefer the 2.7 interface due to the fact on the ess beta the advanced settings are hard to change since you have to scroll left and right to access the settings.
    plus its classic.

Me too, but my preditions here are that the new one will be the clear winner.

    Cheers. :)

Can't say yet since I don't think I've seen the new interface. Eset really should have screenshots on their site.

    Hi lodore,

I voted 'don't know' because it's not really fair to compare an AV-only interface to that of a security suite. Also, NOD32's interface has been refined over the past several years while ESS is only a couple of months old and still in beta!

At this early stage of ESS' life-cycle there's little question that the interface needs improvement (as well as the product's functionality)... But then again, taking its very short public (beta) availability into consideration, ESS is looking pretty good to me!

    Regards, pv

The other thing to remember the ESS will have everything under one GUI, and not split off into separate components running in their own UI. For that reason, many users may prefer that.

I do understand that ESS is beta and the gui may change, but I feel more comfortable with the NOD32 v2 interface.

I'm happy with 2.7, it's more "up front". Tried ESS briefly and found it to be not that easy to navigate (especially finding the firewall configurations). Though it seems the old is still there, hidden under the new surface? Don't know really, as I said I tried it briefly.
