Last week my laptop crashed after having installed the last Microsoft Updates and it cost my a pretty penny to get it back in order. I was advised not to install Vista updates anymore, but now each time I switch on the computer ESET (4) warns me that the necessary Microsoft updates have not been installed.
    Any suggestions?

    Hello Tabla,

Were you given a reason why you should not download your operating system (OS) updates and what about the updates caused troubles with your computer? The reason the ESET security product notifies you of Windows OS updates is because there are security patches for your OS within those updates. Having an antivirus and firewall are parts of a method to protecting your computer. Windows updates are highly recommended and are another part of securing your computer.

    Thank you,
    Richard
