    Hello,

By any chance do you have a card reader or some sort of device like a printer or scanner which contains a card reader plugged into your computer?

    Hello,

That certainly could be the culprit.

If you insert a formatted memory card into the SD-MMC reader before running a scan, do you stilll receive this error message?

    Regards,

    hi,
I've never used the SD-MMC device and I dont have any memory card
that fits it (I'll have one in the future).
What else could cause this error messege?

    Hello,

Do you have any other hard disk drives, even unformatted ones, attached to the computer?

Try disabling the card reader in the Device Manager for the computer and then re-run the scan. Does the error message still occur?

    Regards,

    Aryeh Goretsky

Something similar is happening to me for a long time (XP home SP3 with NOD32 version 2.7):

"Active boot sector of the 1. physical disk - Error reading disk sector"

I've learned to live with it.

Besides: my file-integrity-checker ADinf32 Pro does inform me whether master-boot record or boot record are changed.
