    Hello fellows:

We have a client that have a NT4 sp6 server with SAV 8.0 and migrate to NOD 32 Enterprise version. We install the admin version with mirror and work fine, but I can't use RAC because when I try to activate the RAS service fail with error 2140.

    Any ideas?

    Lucho.

Are you sure they have MDAC 2.5 installed?

By the way, make sure it is MDAC 2.5. I remember thinking that I would be clever by installing MDAC 2.7, but that did not work. It turns out this is because the Jet database engine files used by RAS are included only with MDAC 2.5. Newer versions of the MDAC may update these files, but they do not contain the core files.

You can download the latest version of MDAC 2.5 (SP3) here:

Note that Windows 2000 and above already have MDAC 2.5 built in.
