Era of digital cam is over?

    It is still a digital camera. It just takes a sample at several focal lengths allowing you to choose which one you want.

    They say that the initial release will only be for Mac, the Windows version "in 2012".

    If it had been Windows we'd already have placed our order :)

    No, that is not what it says. The camera does not use any operating system. And as is, you can use it to post to Facebook, Twitter, whatever. And you can upload and save your pics to your Windows machine, no problem.

    The deal with Mac is,
    So you can still share with other Windows users, they just cannot change the focal point of the shared image.

    At least that is how they explained on the news this morning.

    And note he said the Desktop for Windows will support the "current" cameras. So you can still get that order in now, if you want.
