    Hi everyone

Is there a good app for encrypting or locking files? Basically I want to safely keep passwords.
Is this what Roboform does? Can anyone who has used Roboform please comment pros/cons?

    Thanks

EDIT: If possible freeware and/or open source.

Keepass is great for passwords. Single file encryption: AxCrypt, and Volume/container encryption: Truecrypt. All are offered by SourceForge.

If you are just looking for something no frills, bells or whistles to safely store passwords there is a little app which you can download- no install needed- called steganos locknote. It just keeps info in text form in a safe, small, password protected, encripted file. I like it because it is so simple but I do not have many passwords to remember.

Roboform is nice but pricey. Try this free alternative http://www.formautofiller.com
Shitty site but software is rather good.

I wouldn't know what to do without RoboForm. Seriously. If I ever spent good money on software - this was it.

For ad hoc encryption/decryption of files I really like Kruptos 2.

Has right click context menu integration so you don't even have to start up an app to use it. Also produces standalone self decrypting archives for giving to other people. Pretty similar to AXcrypt.
