ESET have always said in their marketing stuff that their software has a small memory footprint. Why is it that EMSX uses about 300MB of memory? Is this correct?

I'm running the latest build, 10019.

One other thing I've noticed is on my SBS 2008 installation in Task Manager, it says "ekrn.exe *32". I've downloaded and installed the 64-bit version - why is EMSX running in 32-bit mode?

Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I can't answer the memory issue, however I'm going to think that EMSX is much different than NOD32 in terms of memory due to all the Exchange integration, VSAPI etc.

As for the 32-bit. The ESET kernel is always 32-bit. The same way that NOD32 64-bit installs the 32-bit kernel with the 64-bit GUI. ESET has not released a 64-bit version of the ekrn.

Could you please create a dump of ekrn.exe via the task manager, upload it to a server and PM me the link?
