On Softpedia it says price is $9.45, which seems a bargain if it's correct.Haven't
tried to purchase at this price, so don't know if it's obtainable.

It's incorrect. Guess it's the same mistake they made with EAM and OA.

Yeah but any minute now they are going to come through on their promise of a better deal than that to make up for their mistake. I've been sitting here with my finger on the PayPal button.:cautious:

Yeah, those things too except for the last one which must have been very offensive.

The funny thing is I would like to buy some Emsisoft security of one variety or another, but here I am waiting because both Emsisoft and Softpedia promised us a good deal to make up for that last misunderstanding. Not sure what business model they are using on this particular deal, but the kinks don't seem to be completely worked out.

You're welcome Cloudcroft! Also, it's apparantly available from today, and for 1,2 or 3 year licenses, which can't be bad. :thumb:

No, "offensive" is not something I knowingly do. The expunged word was "politically incorrect" in that it used an old Western movie expression for danger afoot.

I had already ordered a multiple years license earlier today after I saw this thread. In fact, if you order 2 years or 3 years the price is even better than that for 1 year.

Squaws on the warpath? I would have been deeply offended, thank goodness they snipped that.

How's this Mamutu version running for you? Is it light? Notice anything in particular to report? I'll buy this promo but will probably have to unintall one app
    or might be too much.

Thanks, I'm running Prevx, which I wouldn't remove, and don't think Mamutu would live with Prevx(?) or would I need it anyway. Also F-Sec ISTP and MBAM (can disable IP protection), but have another laptop which I'm selling to a friend in the next week, and will get something more "tasty" for e.g about£1000/$1500...e.g Asus.

I'm considering Mamutu because of the excellent deal. Would it be a beneficial addition to Online Armor Premium + Prevx Free? (I also run a2cmd on demand and Tiny Watcher on Windows start-up).

If I buy a 3 year license, but upgrade to a new laptop (and/or from XP to Windows 7 or  after a year or two, can I transfer the full version of Mamutu to it for the remainder of the 3-year license?

After solving one conflict with another application with Emsisoft's help (just made an exclusion rule for X-Plane), Mamutu has not been noticeable, in fact things seem a little faster with this current set-up of Avast and Mamutu. It is using about 12,600k.

So you think a HIPS is a useful addition? The fun part of what I must now call a hobby (since I am still actively trying security software even though this computer has been fairly secure for some time) is finding the right combination that gives enough security, but that doesn't slow down the normal use of the computer. If HIPS is a good layer to add to my system, then Mamutu seems to fit the bill perfectly, it has a good reputation here and things are noticeably faster using Mamutu as my AV backup instead of what I had.
